Below you will find our detailed tips for a sustainable stay with us.

Free public transportation? No problem!

Are you planning to arrive by public transport? Perfect! If you arrive by public transport, the shuttle from the bus stop to our residence is free.In collaboration with the Dolomites Panorama Region Gsiesertal–Welsberg–Taisten, we offer you free use of all public transport throughout South Tyrol.

Included:

  • Regional trains in South Tyrol (Brenner–Trento, Mals–San Candido)
  • Local buses (all city, regional, and intercity buses)
  • Cable cars to Renon, Maranza, San Genesio, Meltina, Verano, and Colle (Bolzano)
  • Renon tram and Mendel funicular
  • PostBus Switzerland between Mals and Müstair

Transport of children up to 5.9 years old, strollers, and luggage is free.

We will be happy to send you the South Tyrol Guest Pass – Gsiesertal–Welsberg–Taisten Card before your arrival! For this, we need your email address and all other personal data requested in our pre-stay message.

How to validate your ticket?
The Guest Pass – Gsiesertal–Welsberg–Taisten Card must be validated at the beginning of each journey by scanning the QR code. For train journeys, validation must take place before boarding.

At stations and on buses, the latest generation of ticket readers with QR code is in use. Validation is simple: let the scanner read your QR code and wait for the green “OK” on the screen and the acoustic signal.

Shop locally and choose regional products

During your stay, feel free to shop in local stores (St. Magdalena, St. Martin, Picul & Welsberg). There you will find many regional products – top quality and directly from the area.

If you want even more regional freshness, we invite you to discover the handcrafted products of farmers from our valley.

Please do not buy drinking water in plastic bottles – the water from the tap in South Tyrol is of excellent quality. It comes from sparkling mountain springs, is filtered, and goes directly into your glass. No bottled mineral water has such high quality!

Practice active environmental protection also in your accommodation

Slippers:
For the sake of the environment, we recommend bringing your own slippers from home. This way, we avoid single-use slippers and reduce waste. If you don’t have slippers, let us know and we will provide them for an extra charge of €2.

Bathrobes:
We are happy to provide a bathrobe on your arrival for an extra charge of €6. If you have your own bathrobe, we appreciate it if you bring it. This helps us reduce washing cycles, saving detergent and water – which is good for the environment.

Drinking water, showering, brushing teeth:
The water in our region is of excellent drinking quality – so it is all the more important to act resource-consciously. As a guest, you can contribute with small gestures: turn off the water while brushing your teeth or take a quick shower instead of staying 30 minutes under running water.

Get to know the culture and traditions of your destination

Those who get to know the culture, traditions, and people of South Tyrol better may also understand why we want to protect our environment (not just in our region).

There are many opportunities to learn more about our culture and traditions. We recommend visiting one of the numerous museums (e.g., the Folklore Museum or Welsperg Castle), hiking to one of the many alpine huts (e.g., Ascht Alm), or attending one of the many local events (e.g., church festivals, farmers’ markets, or even Krampus runs).

You get to know our region especially well by taking part in a guided experience of the Gsiesertal–Welsberg–Taisten region. A local guide will accompany you on cultural discovery hikes, interesting tastings directly at farms, and visits to historic buildings. Our guides share lots of interesting information. Our reception staff will be happy to provide details.
